Health and Wealth
Okay, so maybe not the wealth part.
Today was a glorious day, the breeze softly whispering through the structures on campus, the sun was shining, the temperature was in the 60's (that's Farenheit) and a short class day, what could possibly be better? Yet so many people both on campus and off don't seem to take the time to look around. I can't help myself, I had a huge grin on my face almost constantly while walking between classes and off campus. What is there not to be happy about? It's a great day to be alive!
Hopefully my exuberance is infectious to an extent.
I went shopping at Wal-mart this morning. While looking through the aisles I came upon the blood pressure-tester near the pharmacy so I though, hey! Why not? I sat down and thrust my arm through the loop and pressed the Start button. Nothing happened. I pressed it again and it began to tighten. I don't really like that feeling, being able to feel my pulse throbbing against the pressure of the band.
It read 124 over 76 if I remember correctly, which apparently is really good, especially for a college student with finals approaching and who is taking an accelerated chemistry course. The beats per minute was somewhere around 82 though, which is a little high I think. But it's perfectly understandable that one's heart might beat faster when one is trying to navigate the crowded aisles of Wal-mart with every female in the place apparently bent on getting to the discount items before you. I tell you it's dangerous being at the wrong end of a shopping cart!
And so the studying goes on. I have three chapters of homework in Chemistry that was just assigned, plus a practice exam in Chemistry, plus three sections of homework in Calculus that was just assigned yesterday, And.... two books to read ahead in, for the biblical studies next week. So in other words, I should actually get to work and stop playing around with my post.
Quote of the day:
In science one tries to tell people,
in such a way as to be understood by everyone,
something that no one ever knew before.
But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.
- Paul Dirac

Hahaha to that quote about science and poetry.
Sometimes I feel like you felt today on campus, and I wonder if everyone thinks I'm nuts because I'm smiling so much. The blue sky is so intoxicating that it's hard *not* to smile.
Indeed! I just commented on that again in the latest post. I can't help smiling either and am going around with this huge grin on my face and everyone else kind of looks at me oddly (and pulls their hood further over their head).
